Job Description

Maintenance Officer

  • Full-time position located in Fletcher

About the role:

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is looking a Maintenance Officer to undertake maintenance duties including but not limited to repairs painting minor construction and alteration works gardening and grounds works and general handyman duties. They are responsible for all equipment and premises being maintained in a safe and sound condition and all duties carried out by the team are done so in aprofessional manner.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Gardening tasks- planting pruning fertilising watering mulching and weeding of garden areas
  • Regular sweeping rubbish removal blower vacuuming and/or hosing
  • Minor repairs of equipment and furniture painting moving items of furniture and classroom supplies
  • Daily security routines (this may include unlocking gates for entry and securing of site at end of day)
  • Maintaining a safe environment for all students staff and visitors
  • Assisting with the set-up of events and functions

Qualifications & experience

  • Trade Qualification
  • 2 years experience in similar role
  • Following safe handling procedures for chemical usage manual handling storage of items and general WHS
  • A clear understanding of and personal commitment to the Mission and Values of Anglican businesses.
  • Demonstrated competence in programmed reactive and preventative maintenance.

The successful applicant will possess NSW Working with Children Check and be willing to undertake a National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
