QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience relevant to the position
Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or Arizona Coaching Certificate - optional
Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies as applicable.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrate and apply leadership integrity responsibility self-control and knowledge of rules and regulations at all times.
Act in a responsible and professional manner.
Seta good example and provide a healthy lifestyle.
Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

FUNCTION: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Band Drill Team Advisor will work within the framework of the Marching Band programs such as Arizona Music Educators Association (AMEA) and Arizona Marching Band Association (AMBA) to provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of students in their field through coordinating planning evaluation and implementation of programs. The position will have the responsibility of carrying on their respective activities within the best interest of Sierra Vista Unified School District and its students within the bounds of the rules set forth by the AMBA and AMEA.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the activity involved.
Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
Maintain necessary attendance forms insurance records and similar paperwork.
Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and overseepenalties for breach of such standards by individual students.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Band Drill Team Advisor reports to the Band Director and the Principal of the high school. The Band Drill Team Advisor will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
