You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs aFullstack Engineerat Heartbeat Medical you will play a key role in shaping our digital platform and services for patients and medical professionals. Youll be part of a highly collaborative cross-functional product and engineering team working closely with the team leads of Engineering and Product our product designer medical content specialists and fellow engineers.
Youll contribute across the full depth of our system heartbeat OS backend frontend and infrastructure. As we are a health-tech company testing safety and reliability are not just best practices but critical requirements. Youll take ownership of implementing unit and integration tests and work with the team to maintain our high code quality standards.
You will be a key contributor to our mission of making healthcare more patient-centric and digitally supported with an impact on hundreds of patients per week. Our mission is to provide the digital infrastructure for future care and reimbursement to be guided by individual health outcomes in Germany and beyond.Develop test and maintain scalable features across the full product stack
Contribute to system architecture and infrastructure decisions
Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
Write clean testable code and perform code reviews
Support an increasing use AI tools within the engineering workflow
Collaborate with PM designers engineers and leadership to deliver product improvements
Participate in work planning retrospectives etc. We use a mixture of kanban and scrum

Strong experience inJavaScript/TypeScript both backend () and frontend (React Vue or similar)
Strong understanding ofcore web fundamentals and framework-less development
Experience working withSQL andrelational databases (we use Postgres)
Comfort deploying and maintainingcontainerized applications (e.g. Docker)
Ability to write testable robust software with unit and integration tests
Experience withgRPC andprotocol buffers is a plus
Excellent communication skills in English; openness to learning basic German (we offer support for German classes)
Comfortable in a dynamic fast-paced and purpose-driven environment
Proactive hands-on and team-oriented mindset
Experience in regulated environments or with digital health products
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or DevOps tooling
Contributions to open-source or public projects developed in the past or at the moment

We will ask you to solve real problems which may be related to our product and context at Heartbeat Medical. The challenge is crafted to be meaningful and specific while just like in the real world youre welcome to use AI tools its designed to test your unique approach and reasoning and not a definite end result/output.
As part of the process especially if you are in Berlin youll also meet with members of our team in technical and non-technical interviews to get a sense of what working together will be like.
