Description
RPO Recruitments client a well-established construction company in the Western Cape is currently seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Tenderer/Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team and play a critical role in securing and delivering successful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and submission of competitive civil tenders
- Analyse project specifications drawings and contractual documents
- Prepare detailed BOQs and cost estimates using industry-standard software
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and quotations
- Identify and evaluate tender risks opportunities and value engineering options
- Liaise with clients consultants and internal stakeholders during tender clarification stages
- Attend tender briefings and site visits as required
- Manage all commercial aspects of awarded projects
- Monitor project costs and budgets reporting on cost variances and profitability
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations progress claims and variation orders
- Review and negotiate contracts subcontracts and procurement terms
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and company policies
- Support project teams with financial planning forecasting and cost reporting
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Building/BTech in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering or similar
- Minimum 15 years of experience in civil construction with a strong track record in tendering and quantity surveying
- Proven experience in earthworks bulk services stormwater pipelines or related civil infrastructure
- Excellent understanding of local construction regulations SANS standards and contract law (e.g. JBCC GCC FIDIC)
- Proficiency in estimating and QS software (e.g. CCS Candy WinQS BuildSmart)
- Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff
- Drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites when required
