Are you a seasoned Payroll and HR Systems professional looking for a pivotal role where you can drive significant impact Our client is seeking a proactive and technically adept individual to take ownership of their group payroll processing and their integrated HRIS platform known as the Colleague Portal. This role is instrumental in embedding critical functions into a sustainable long-term structure ensuring the platform delivers exceptional value compliance and usability across the entire business. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of salaries and wages across the group ensuring accuracy compliance and timely execution.
  • Lead monthly and year-end payroll processes including comprehensive reconciliations and effective exception handling.
  • Take full ownership of SARS compliance managing EMP201 EMP501 and IRP5 submissions along with all tax year-end activities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll queries and critical decision-making.
  • Maintain payroll Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) calendars and cut-off controls to guarantee auditable and consistent delivery.
  • Own the groups Colleague Portal managing all functional and data elements of this integrated HR and payroll platform.
  • Ensure optimal system performance across current modules (HR Master Data Payroll Time & Attendance) and lead the rollout of new functionalities such as Learning & Development and Performance Management.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships including configuration changes and roadmap alignment for key HRIS platforms.
  • Maintain data integrity access control and integration flows with other critical systems.
  • Apply a strong understanding of BCEA and relevant labour legislation to ensure compliance across payroll and HR data processes.
  • Align workflows within the Colleague Portal with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Support HR managers and teams in standardizing processes across different sites and functions.
  • Lead the accuracy and development of reporting within the Colleague Portal covering HR payroll and operational outputs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize report improvements address ad hoc needs and ensure reliable data delivery.
  • Drive data governance accuracy and continuous reporting enhancement to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Provide training and support to HR teams Finance Managers and site leads on the effective use of the Colleague Portal.
  • Champion system adoption and resolve system-related queries efficiently.
  • Lead and coordinate change management efforts for future system or process enhancements.
