Job Summary:
This role is for a Radiation Oncologist responsible for providing radiation therapy treatments to patients diagnosed with cancer. The position involves performing various radiation therapy techniques utilizing specialized equipment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The work is primarily performed at a main center and two satellite locations.
Location: Wilmington North Carolina United States.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering external beam radiation therapy (teletherapy) intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and other advanced radiation techniques.
- Utilizing Varian Halcyon Varian TrueBeam Varian IX linac Nucletron HDR Afterloader Siemens CT simulator and Sun Nuclear QA physics equipment.
- Utilizing treatment planning systems such as Varian Eclipse and Aria.
- Performing quality assurance tasks related to radiation therapy equipment and procedures.
- Managing patient records and treatment plans within the ARIA system.
- Performing special procedures such as MLC-based SRS SBRT IMRT VMAT IGRT T&O and Vaginal Cylinder.
- Covering physics clinical tasks during clinical hours.
- Working at both the main center and satellite locations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Radiation Oncology.
- Experience with External Beam Radiation Therapy (Teletherapy) Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and radiation safety precautions.
- Proficiency in using Varian equipment (Halcyon TrueBeam IX linac etc.).
- Experience with treatment planning systems (Varian Eclipse and Aria).
- Experience with VisonRT for SGRT.
- Active ABR certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with first-time travelers is acceptable.
- Experience with MLC based SRS SBRT IMRT VMAT IGRT T&O and Vaginal Cylinder.
Special Considerations:
- RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
- No call requirements float requirements or weekend requirements.
- 40 hours per week can be offered with a 13-week assignment.
- 8-hour days Monday-Friday (08:00 - 17:00).
- Scrubs are provided.
- 40 hours of clinic orientation required.
