Manage a caseload of looked-after children with complex needs ensuring effective care planning and regular reviews.
Undertake statutory visits and assessments ensuring the childs voice and best interests are central to all decision-making.
Prepare high-quality court statements reports and assessments for Looked After Children Reviews Permanency Panels and Care Proceedings.
Work in close partnership with families carers education health and other professionals to deliver integrated services.
Develop and implement effective Pathway Plans for young people transitioning to independence and adulthood.
Promote and support permanency options including reunification long-term fostering special guardianship and adoption.
Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff offering guidance support and reflective supervision as required.
Participate in team development activities and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Qualified and registered Social Worker with extensive post-qualification experience in Children s Services particularly with Children We Look After.
Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 Care Planning Regulations and Leaving Care frameworks.
Proven ability to manage complex cases undertake risk assessments and develop effective care and permanency plans.
Experience working within a multi-agency context advocating for children s needs across education health and legal systems.
Skilled in building and maintaining positive trusting relationships with children and young people even in challenging circumstances.
