We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Domiciliary Support Worker to join our team in Wigan United Kingdom. As a domiciliary support worker you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.
- Assist service users with personal care tasks including bathing dressing and grooming
- Support with medication management ensuring prescribed medications are taken correctly and on time
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to service users
- Assist with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment when required
- Monitor and report any changes in service users health or wellbeing to the care coordinator
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or concerns
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Companion calls
- Domestic support around the home
- Access to your own motor vehicle motorbike or bike
Qualifications :
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility
- Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is preferred
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable
- First Aid certification is advantageous
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required for some positions
