Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in the day-to-day activities and services of the ABI labs including maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
Maintains proper lab documentation which includes w Assists in developing and enforcing health and safety protocols for the ABI.
Installs configures and/or calibrates new equipment; develops and conducts the preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment throughout the facility performs routine maintenance and repair; arranges for repair as needed.
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Familiarity with standard laboratory practices.
Knowledge of lab safety protocol and procedures including storage of chemicals.
Working knowledge of common biotechnology/life science equipment including maintenance.
Skills
Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a strong customer-orientation when working with a diverse team.
Effective planning organizing communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a variety of settings including office and laboratory.
Subject to standing walking sitting bending reaching pushing and pulling and occasionally stooping crawling and climbing.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
Able to read chemical labels and instructions as well as use lab equipment; able to survey assigned lab spaces for safety issues.
Required Education
High school diploma or educational equivalent; current GPA 2.8 and above.
Other Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of laboratory aseptic techniques.
Safety
Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
