ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Electrician/Electrical Fitter youll be responsible for the installation maintenance and testing of HV and LV substation equipment. Youll work on essential infrastructure projects ensuring equipment is safe reliable and compliant with industry standards. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to grow your technical expertise in a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and upgrade substation equipment as per specifications
  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on primary and auxiliary plant
  • Conduct testing and fault diagnosis on transformers switchgear and circuits
  • Operate and isolate power systems to ensure safe working conditions
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed including test results and equipment history
  • Participate in site risk assessments and ensure safe work practices
  • Support customer relationships through professional service delivery
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards
  • Participate in training and development activities
  • Contribute to project work and may be part of an after-hours standby roster

ABOUT YOU

  • NZ-registered electrician
  • HV experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
  • Full drivers licence
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Strong safety awareness and familiarity with electrical equipment and tools
