Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Catechist
Part - Time
We are blessed at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish School (OLGC) in Plymouth MI to offer life-changing encounters with Jesus and equip leaders to transform the culture. We are seeking a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Catechist to join our OLGC family. The candidate will thrive in a team environment with a desire to advance our mission.

- The mission and vision of the Archdiocese of Detroit to renew and reinvent our Catholic schools in missionary discipleship.
- What it means to have a personal encounter with Jesus and live the faith.
- What it takes for every staff member to build a cohesive team culture of prayer and regularly evangelize and disciple each other.
JOB SUMMARY
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Catechist is responsible for implementing the CGS program with our Pre-K 3 through 2nd graders in our school atriums. The CGS catechist supports the classroom teacher in implementing the Archdiocese of Detroit religion standards along with the schools Campus Minister.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Implement the CGS formation program in our atriums for Grades Pre-K 3 2nd Grade (CGS Levels I and II)
- Collaborate with school teachers and schools Campus Minister to support the implementation of the AOD standards for religion curriculum.
- Maintain communication with principal staff and school parents as necessary.
- Develop lessons and continue to support materials for the atrium.
Qualifications
- CGS Level I and Level II Training required;
- Experience in CGS and/or schools is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for His Church;
- Passionate about helping children grow as intentional disciples of Jesus;
- Enjoys working in team environments.
DETAILS
- This position is part- time. We are willing to split the position between Level I and Level II certified catechists..
- Reports to the principal
