Required:
Bachelors degree in public relations journalism communications marketing or a related field
Previousexperience in public relations media relations or marketing for a secondary school university or other education-related business or non-profit organization
Strong understanding of best practices in public relations and marketing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
Strong analytical organizational and planning skills
Ability tomaintaina positive and professional attitude toward colleagues and other external constituencies
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to travel and to work flexible hours as necessary including evenings and weekends
Preferred:
Threeyears of experience in public relations media relationsrecruitingor marketing for a secondary school university or other education-related business or non-profit organization
Knowledge of desktop publishing and/or graphic design software
The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist manages the LSMSA social media presence creates content to promote the school at-large and assists with outreach initiatives.
The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for writing editing and submitting content for both print and electronic media; developing a unified brand voice and maintaining brand integrity across all platforms; working with students and staff to manage and maintain all official LSMSA social media accounts; and assisting with the production of various publications for the department and the campus at-large. Additionally the Public Relations and Outreach Specialist assists with the development and implementation of departmental outreach programs.

Salary range for this 12-month position is $33000 - $35000.
