We are seeking an experienced Integration Architect to lead the development of a Defence Support Integration Reference and Target Logical Architecture. This role will contribute to ensuring that new digital services and modernisation initiatives are seamlessly integrated into the wider Defence Support Environment (DSE).
The Integration Architect will play a key role in defining documenting and aligning integration standards policies templates and rules ensuring consistency and effective integration across multiple stakeholders and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop the Integration Architecture (Reference Conceptual and initial Logical Architecture) along with clear visualisations and supporting materials for stakeholder engagement.
- Identify integration elements and solution areas rather than specific solutions or products.
- Lead the discovery process:
- Review existing integration documentation to establish a baseline.
- Analyse relevant blueprints reference architectures and directives.
- Identify duplications omissions and misalignments.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and requirements.
- Develop a catalogue of integration architecture elements and initiate a pattern reference library.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to socialise consult on and refine the Integration Architecture.
- Highlight gaps risks and issues impacting integration; provide structured outputs that support prioritisation and follow-on actions.
- Contribute to related architecture forums to ensure alignment with ongoing initiatives.
Key Deliverables
- Integration Architecture documentation and visualisations.
- Defined list of integration elements dependencies and templates.
- Updated workbooks capturing task organisation outputs and identified integration gaps.
- Reference and pattern libraries to support ongoing integration development.
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in Integration Architecture ideally within Defence Support or a complex engineering/logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of digital services compliance and open standards.
- Familiarity with digital infrastructure networks cloud operational service management cyber operations and identity/access management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement consulting and advisory skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Minimum of SC (Security Check) clearance.
- Experience in business change management is desirable.
Additional Considerations
- The role involves strategic and conceptual architecture development not detailed design of individual solutions.
- Must be comfortable identifying gaps and inconsistencies across multiple organisational boundaries and proposing pathways to resolve them.
