Job Description

The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all purchasing activities within the organization to ensure the supply of direct and indirect material based on negotiations in terms of pricing payment terms and incoterms. This role involves developing purchasing strategies managing supplier relationships and ensuring that the procurement process aligns with the companys goals and objectives.
Develops and implements department standards and practices with full compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize the procurement process and reduce costs; identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.

Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers; conduct regular performance reviews and negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure favorable terms.

Budget Management: Collaborate with finance to develop and manage the procurement budget; monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures to enhance profitability.

Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and potential risks; analyze market data to make informed purchasing decisions.

Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management systems to ensure optimal stock levels; coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the purchasing team; provide training and support to enhance skills and ensure adherence to best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g. production finance quality control) to ensure alignment of purchasing needs and resolve any issues related to procurement.

Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies; maintain accurate records and documentation for all purchasing activities. Guarantee the proper usage of company GSM systems such as SPS (Supplier Performance system) IVALUA Sobo (Sourcing Board Process) and any other determined by the Global VP GSM.

Performance Metrics: Perform on key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement such as Net Cost Savings aligned to the % of cost reduction previously established by VP GSM; analyze data to assess team performance and to identify areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve purchasing processes increase efficiency and strengthen supplier relationships; engage in supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives according to the balance score card monitored based on our Supplier Quality Manual.

Create strategies for the optimal replenishment of indirect material taking care of inventory value and ensuring spare parts for the end user.

Bill of Material (BOM) Management related to material costing.
