The Role
Flutter Functions Global Sportsbook & Trading (GST) aims to empower Flutter brands shaping the future of sports betting by helping to drive their success and growth.
With over 400 colleagues working in roles across trading operations product delivery architecture and engineering and by partnering closely with more than 1100 people in the wider global trading and sportsbook community at Flutter GSTs Mission intends to raise the bar to be #1 on all sports; share Flutters most innovative sportsbook products globally; transform Risk & Trading operations unleashing the power of data; co-create the next generation sportsbook and build a culture of inclusion innovation personal growth and leadership excellence.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about data analytics to pioneer the discipline in a rapidly growing area of the business. Critical thinking and problem solving will be key for exploring the challenges & opportunities as we develop the data team. Youll be working within Shared Platforms alongside some of the main Flutters Brands to provide insights that will ensure we are making data-driven decisions to properly support the Inner Source strategy.
Your mission will be to uncover key insights from Flutters global data enabling
quality decision-making about the future of our shared platforms and governance model. You will leverage your strong data analyst skills and data storytelling abilities to extract valuable insights from our vast data sources and communicate these insights to various stakeholders to inspire action and change. Your role will involve transforming complex data into compelling narratives and supporting data-driven decision-making across our product lines.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Data Analysis: Explore analyse and interpret large datasets related to software development activies and the overall SDLC;
- Collaboration: Build great relationships across teams and Divisional Leads Product Owners Managers and Engineers to understand their data requirements and provide valuable insights to optimize the efficiency of our co-creation model.
- Data Storytelling: Craft data-driven visualisations and narratives which provide clear and actionable insights for our stakeholders making complex data
accessible and understandable to all; - Continuous Learning: Be enthusiastic about expanding your skillset including learning new data platforms & tools programming languages and techniques to enhance your data analysis capabilities.
- Experimentation: Foster a culture of experimentation leading the design execution and analysis of experiments to optimize our data extraction;
- Data Transformation and Quality: Transform multiple raw data sources into clean views and continuously maintain data integrity identifying and rectifying issues as they arise.
What Youll Bring
- Experience as a seasoned data analyst;
- Experience using Python to query large relational databases;
- An ability to work independently and provide a personal resolution to projects;
- A track record of excellence in subjects with a mathematical or statistical focus;
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of statistical programming software and techniques (e.g. Python R etc.);
- Experience of extracting analysing and interpreting large and sometimes incomplete data sets;
- Advanced communication skills including experience of delivering output that is clear and succinct despite the subject being complex to senior stakeholders;
- Curious and questioning approach with a high attention to detail;
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Interest in the sports betting industry is a distinct advantage;
- Other desirable skills: Tableu Looker Power BI
