The College of Education (COE) at Gardner-Webb University seeks a strong candidate for a tenure-track faculty position teaching curriculum and instruction in Exceptional Childrens/special education. The 9-month tenure-track position will start onAugust 1 2025.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Special Education/Exceptional Children/ or a related field and a strong record of scholarly research and/or K-12 leadership experience
Demonstrate knowledge of school district-level special education exceptional child reading and literacy practices
Served in public K-12 setting
Preferred Qualifications
A research/scholarship portfolio in K-12 curriculum and instruction reading literacy academically gifted or related K-12 experience
Science of Reading Certification or eligibility for the Science of Reading Certificate
Experience with online and hybrid teaching and course development
Experience with university teaching
Served in public K-12 leadership roles as a school or central office personnel
Teaching Research and Service Assignments
Teach 12 credit hours per semester
Teach exceptional childrens courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Provide service to the College of Education University community and academic profession
Supervise student teachers
Conduct research and scholarly activities to enhance the COE academic climate
