General Summary
The Eastern Michigan University School of Technology and Professional Services Management invites applications for a Part-time Lecturer for the Aviation Program. The successful candidate will primarily teachAviation Ground Instruction courses in compliance with FAA Part 141 certification requirements and may also cover core Aviation courses including but not limited to Aircraft Aerodynamics Aviation Safety Weather and Crew Resource Management. Further consideration may be given to those with the ability to teach or assist in other academic areas as determined by candidate expertise. This part-time appointment (no benefits) will begin in the Fall 2025 semester.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The primary professional responsibility of the Employee is teaching. Employees are expected to develop and maintain their professional skills in order to ensure high quality education for their students.
Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes assessing student work and performance preparing syllabi and course materials providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Aviation or equivalent.
CFI CFII Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
College or university teaching experience is desirable.
Masters Degree or Graduate Certificate desired.
Multi Engine Commercial or ATP certificate.
Part 141 Instruction Experience Preferred.
The department/school may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate relativebackground in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis.
