Job Description
Our client is a giant conglomerate in the building and construction industry. As part of its expansionary plan it is seeking to employ an experienced professional to join them as
Design Manager
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Design Management team. He/She is expected to provide technical and supervisory leadership in Design management.
The Job
Close communication with Top Management to reflect its intention for the project and
establish Design management policy/tactics in line with its intention.
Responsible for client and consultant management.
Plan drawings submission schedule and control the sequence and time frame for
development of drawings.
Prepare documents submission schedule to control the sequence and timing for
submission/approval with preferable float time.
Coordinate all related design matters with Consultants/Client.
Ensure main contract and sub-contract designs coordinated fulfil all design
requirements.
Coordinate with Contract team for any formal and informal changes made by
Consultants.
Coordinate with Contract team for proper sequence of sub-contract awards.
The Candidate
At least a recognized Bachelors degree recognized by relevant bodies (e.g. LTA P.E
Board etc)
At least 10 years of design coordination experience.
Civil Engineering construction is highly preferred.
Consultant background is highly preferred.
Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long term relationships.
Good knowledge of local authority requirements and engineering standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and control activities of Design Members.
Good skill to manage changes by Consultants i.e. comments to RFI or AI issued
ensure the changes are economically in favor to the Contractor.
Familiar with 2D CAD operation and good understanding of 3D Modelling
management.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly.
Physically fit/healthy with the ability to work well under pressure.
