JOB GOAL:
To provide students assigned to PBIS/ALE with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. To enable students to develop academic competencies and behavioral self-regulation skills in order to function successfully in society.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days) plus a benefits package.NOTE:Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSDs salary placement guidelines.FLSA: EXEMPT.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet Arkansas certification requirements in elementary education (P-4).
- At least five (5) years experience as a teacher working with urban youth including experience with students with special needs and behavioral or mental health issues.
- Competent in total teaching act and differentiated instructional planning and delivery of appropriate instruction for multi-grade setting.
- Knowledge of curriculum development best practice teaching strategies/interventions and commitment to fully implement Common Core State Standards (ELA and Mathematics) for primary level students.
- Committed to the creation of a safe orderly and secure school climate.
- Demonstrates proficiency in writing and implementing Individualized Behavior Management Plans.
- Evidence of strong skills in facilitation in order to successfully collaborate with district personnel and community agencies in a manner that will promote a positive image of the Little Rock School District.
- Willingness to participate in on-going professional development.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to quality integrated education.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates the conviction that all children can and will learn in the Little Rock School District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. - Coordinate the overall structure of the schools primary level PBIS/ALE program in accordance with state and district goals and objectives.
- Fully implement grade appropriate curricula for assigned students.
- Provide direct instruction to assigned students in self-contained multi-grade classroom appropriate to each students abilities and behavioral needs.
- Schedule and facilitate intake progress and exit conferences.
- Consult with parents teachers and principals specialists students and community resources.
- Regular assessment of student academic behavioral social and emotional growth through collection of anecdotal data or other evidence.
- Adheres to district guidelines for grade reporting and district / state assessments.
- Commit to regular attendance at workshops and meetings for continued professional growth.
- Fully integrate technology into the learning environment.
- Perform additional auxiliary duties as assigned.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
