Work Schedule
20 hours per week; Preferred to have a consistent schedule between 8am to 5pm.
Job Summary
Under direct supervision the Student Assistant assists the College of Education (COE) Staff and Faculty Dean/Chair Leads and IT Staff with day-to-day operations. Some of these tasks include but are not limited to: basic installation deployment and troubleshooting of IT technology such as desktops/iPads/laptops/printers within offices shared areas and computer labs. Triage College of Education Helpdesk Support Tickets and assigning to the appropriate team/group/person.
In addition the Student Assistant works with IT Development and Application services staff to support COEs Website Web and database application Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) support and IT Development and Programming. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty staff and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Desire to work with technology. Ability to multi-task and take direction with a can-do attitude is a must for this position. Ability to be on time and work collaboratively with a team are also crucial to this position. Previous IT experience is not required but is a plus. Also any customer service experience and basic phone etiquette will be considered as a plus. Candidate must have experience with at least two of the following Microsoft products: Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint applications.
Required Qualifications
Background Check
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
