Job Description

Emergency Department Registrar Southland Hospital Permanent Fulltime

Salary Band C $127338 - $194820 Kiwisaver

  • Fantastic opportunity for12 months ACEM training including TS4 accreditation

About the Role

  • All major specialties are on site

  • ACEM Paediatric logbook accreditation

  • Dedicated 6-month Anaesthetics term available to ED trainees

  • The fellowship exam pass rate has been 4 out of 4 the past 5 years

  • EM Diploma and Certificate supervision (5 Certificate graduates past 3 years)

  • 4 hours per week protected teaching time consultant led. All registrars

  • 15 hours per day of direct FACEM on-floor supervision

  • Rotations to accredited specialty inpatient units available. Paediatrics includes neonatal unit

  • More hands-on experience your patient your procedure

This role belongs to the New Zealand Resident Doctors Association and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand)Collective Agreement and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand (STONZ) and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) Collective Agreement

About the Team/Service/ Location

  • You will be part of a close-knit team of 9 FACEMs 10 Registrars 2 MOSS and 7 Senior House Officers managing over 39000 patients annually (21% Paediatrics).

  • Full case-mix including a relatively high level of major trauma.
