HK$19764 HK$24701 per month
Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Assist laboratory technologists in performing routine laboratory duties including:
- staining mounting and labeling of stained slides printing cassettes and slides;
- decontamination of contaminated equipment instruments apparatus and utensils cleaning of laboratory benches and shelves in clean and tidy condition;
- handle disinfection of contaminated plastic ware glassware and containers; reuse or dispose as appropriate and dispose specimen containers corrosive and poisonous reagents chemicals and articles which are likely to be infectious;
- prepare specimen bottles reagents cleaning agents and sterile items for laboratory use and perform basic maintenance of minor equipment filtering of reagents and stains etc;
- filing and retrieving patients materials such as paraffin blocks and stained slides and require operating mobile shelving system.
- Processing blood units or components received from HKRCBTS

Assist laboratory technologists in specimen reception including sorting checking labeling registration of clinical specimens received and centrifuging and aliquoting plasma or serum from specimens; packaging specimens for dispatching. (Specimen may be infectious or radioactive)
3.
Operate and handle general support service equipment such as centrifuge water-bath safety cabinet electronic balance water-purification system automatic stainer coverslipper fume hood cassette and slide printers and laboratory work under supervision of medical laboratory technicians or technologists.
4.
Prepare simple laboratory reagents; and handle inflammable or corrosive chemicals under supervision (include handling and preparing of formaldehyde solution
5.
Handle blood and other patient specimens including body fluid or marrow blood.
6.
Assist in the reception of blood products from Red Cross and transportation of blood component units.
7.
Assist in test procedures such as sample preparation or centrifugation process. Handle Covid-19 related testing and procedures.
8.
Perform general clerical duties assist in computer entry of inventory control items may require to do manual handling work.
9.
Answer telephone enquiries.
10.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Entry Requirements
1.
Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; AND
2.
Completed structured departmental training (See remarks).
Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
1.
Possess working experience in laboratory.
2.
Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.
3.
Pleasant and mature personality with good communication skill and inter-personal skill interested to work in hospital environment.

5.
Good PC skills & knowledge in MS Word Excel and PowerPoint and other MS Office applications.
Fluent in spoken Cantonese and ability to speak English and Mandarin.
