Casual Mental Health Support Worker Residential Program Rehabilitation - Helensvale

ACM Healthcare is on the lookout for multiple carers to join a pool of dedicated staff working within a residential program. The role includes assisting clients to achieve their maximum independence by providing daily living support and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. As a Carer you will collaborate closely with the mental health team to develop and implement individualized care plans. There are a mixture of shifts available ongoing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rehabilitation Support: Assist clients in participating in rehabilitation activities and programs.
  • Monitoring: Observe clients for changes in mental and physical health and report any concerns to the nursing or clinical team.
  • Crisis Support: Respond to and de-escalate crisis situations under supervision.
  • Daily Living Skills: Assist clients in developing and maintaining daily living skills such as cooking cleaning and budgeting.
  • Companionship: Provide companionship create a safe space for emotional expression and facilitate connections with therapy and program resources.
  • Communication: Encourage effective communication and social interaction among clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of client care and observations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Certificate IV in Mental Health / Alcohol and Other Drugs/ Community Services
  • A valid Australian Drivers License
  • Demonstrated work experience in a residential rehabilitation setting
  • Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
