DescriptionNA
Responsibilities- Target setting: Undertake benchmarking set targets at vehicle system and component level to enable internal regulatory and public domain safety performance
- Content specification: Define vehicle and restraints content to enable program targets
- Occupant safety CAE simulation: LS-Dyna simulation with pre and post processing tools including issue resolution development and optimization of vehicle interior seatbelts and airbags for occupant injury criteria
- Test Planning: Liaison with PMTs to organize safety test planning at sub system and full vehicle level
- Logistics: Support test logistics globally to ensure right parts right place at the right time
- Execution of tests: Supervision of testing to ensure execution to the right specification to right quality level and in a timely manner
- Analysis: Analyse test data and use observation to draw correct conclusions from the tests.
- Decision making: Use the test/CAE data conclusions to draw together proposals to recommend to management or if possible/necessary decide independently
- Implementation: Supervise the implementation of the design modifications resulting from the test decision making
- Closure: Test to demonstrate compliance to target and feedback via formal reports to the organization
QualificationsThe candidate must:
- have a detailed understanding of how to set and achieve the most demanding occupant safety targets
- have the ability to clearly calmly and effectively communicate conclusions drawn from analyses
- work closely with the senior occupant engineers the structural CAE safety team and other engineering teams to achieve the program targets
- actively seek out understand and implement global best practice in occupant safety methodology
- be able to critique CAE correlate CAE and analyse physical test results to seek out quality issues/improvements
- work with all other engineering teams to understand and resolve occupant safety related design issues.
- be able to organize and track testing and analysis projects
- effectively run meetings and agendas
- continually improve understanding of crash occupant kinematics impact biomechanics and changing crash requirements globally
- have the drive to take ownership of the attribute and lead the team to resolve issues & achieve their targets
- Minimum bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Aero / Mech Eng) with 5 or above years of work experience MS or PhD. preferred;
- Using commercial crash software preferably using Ls-Dyna ANSA Primer Hyperworks and/or equivalent
