New Contract Opportunity for a MLS Lab Manager

Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to partner with top tier rural hospital in Morrison IL that is in need of a Contract/Interim Clinical Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will be responsible for the operational technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory in all departments (Chemistry Coagulation Hematology UrinalysisSerology Blood Bank and POCT). This is a contract-to-hire position

What we are offering

• Day Shift: Monday-Friday and on call as needed
  

• $40/hr plus per diem of $31/hr for the duration of the contract

Position Overview:

• Manage laboratory and processes to ensure day-to-day operations follow internal standard operating procedures and regulatory standards of CLIA and COLA.
  

• Support monthly financial reporting budget preparation and ensuring the laboratory is on target to meet performance and operational goals
  

• Assists Director in budget process through resource identification and service needs evaluating and providing analysis for new projects and strategic initiatives. Identifies necessary capital budget items for Laboratory.
  

• Manage laboratory personnel by preparing schedules providing guidance and direction.
  

• Maintain flexibility to cover scheduling gaps as needed.
  

• Maintain strict CLIA and COLA Compliance
  

• Collaborate with internal teams vendors and others as needed to resolve issues maintain ongoing functionality and document service project management and repair work.
  

• Supervise all testing performance corrective actions and process improvement
  

• Perform or delegate instrument validation maintenance and troubleshooting
  

• Develop SOPs
  

• Maintain QA/QC records and programs
  

• Oversee laboratory and accessioning personnel performance training and competency
  

• Other duties as assigned.
  

Candidate Profile:

• B.S. (or higher) in Biology Medical Technology or related field
  

• 5 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience in a High-Complexity Clinical Lab

• Prior Supervisor experience is required
  

• Previous experience as a Generalist
  

• MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent
