RECYCLING ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN $18/HR FULL-TIME SALEM OR

GLISS is now hiring a Recycling Electronics Technician in Salem OR for a local nonprofit partner dedicated to providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This is a hands-on technical role that supports electronics recycling and refurbishment helping to reduce waste and support a more sustainable futurewhile being part of a mission-driven team that truly makes a difference in the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Recycling Electronics Technician you will disassemble test and refurbish computer systems and electronic components. Youll evaluate the usability of equipment erase data make necessary repairs and ensure everything is documented and tested before resale. This role requires accuracy accountability and the ability to work independently while supporting a greater mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Disassemble computer systems and electronic components

  • Perform diagnostic tests on electronic equipment

  • Repair and refurbish reusable components including hard drive wiping

  • Conduct final testing on completed units

  • Maintain detailed documentation of repairs and work progress

  • Consult with IT staff on technical issues as needed

  • Understand and follow R2V3 recycling and refurbishing standards

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Provide guidance or training to fellow team members

  • Offer feedback to improve integrated employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities

  • Attend meetings and contribute to team initiatives

  • Assist with planning and process improvements as needed

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

  • Strong communication organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Experience with data entry and computer systems

  • Familiarity with operating systems and software licensing

  • Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting skills for digital and analog systems

  • Ability to create spec sheets and document refurbished components

  • Basic reprogramming knowledge preferred

  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 1000 lbs with equipment

  • Ability to stand bend stoop kneel and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the day

  • Must be able to read write speak and understand English

SCHEDULE:
Full-time MondayThursday (day shift)

PAY:
$16/hour
