What Youll Do in This Role:
The Life Enrichment Assistant provides LifeCircles participants with active and engaging activities that promote cognitive physical social emotional and spiritual wellness. Activities will center around active movement designed to maintain or improve health function and the participants desire to remain at home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure programming offerings include active movement supportive of participants health function and desire to remain at home.
- Understand participant goals of care and care plan to ensure needs align with active programming opportunities.
- Assists and encourages attendance and active participation in each program.
- Uses Positive Approach to Care (PAC) approaches to assist with positive and effective engagement with participants.
- Makes suggestions to the Life Enrichment Coordinator regarding recommendations for changes in a participants Life Enrichment care plan.
- Actively participates in the planning of monthly life enrichment programs by sharing thoughts and ideas.
- Prepares for and facilitates daily programming as scheduled
- Maintains thorough and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policy.
What Youll Need:
- High school diploma required
- Experience working with frail elderly long-term care populations or end-of-life care preferred
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Valid Michigan drivers license and reliable transportation
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with participants and team members
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet diverse cultural needs
- Commitment to providing person-centered care
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
