The Role ...
Our Developers know their stuff theyre busy working independently and setting high standards.
As a Backend Engineer you are part of an agile Software Development Team responsible for the full lifecycle of an application using cutting-edge technologies to deliver amazing value to our customers while scaling our platform to meet the demands of worldwide markets.
From developing flowcharts layouts and documentation to supporting the Product Owner with requirements and the team with solutions developing unit component and integrated tests with the guidance of the teams QA - you can expect to execute the full software development lifecycle.
Programming well-designed testable efficient code to solve business needs and deploy applications in a Continuous Integration platform as well as testing and documenting the implemented solutions will be a big part of your day-to-day.
To become one of us you should have...
Our products backend runs in Java so a proven track record of at least 3 years working with this technology (preferably Java 8) would be ideal - but... If you have extensive experience working with similar OOP languages that is not a problem as the underlying concepts are similar - just know that if you join us youll be working with Java.
Our teams also work with technologies such as Scala Kafka Akka Memcached Apache Storm Apache Cassandra Zookeeper RabbitMQ and some others... Ideally you should have working experience with most/all of these but if not dont worry - we will have your back!
Apart from thisthere are some things we hope you already have such as:
Experience working with a high concurrency/high transactional/highly available platform;
Familiarity working with Client-server protocols such as SOAP and REST;
Expertise using established design patterns and encouraging appropriate use of reusability techniques (e.g. library extraction new component creation);
As a Backend Developer at Blip its not just about the technical knowledge. We value (a lot) a strong set of soft skills - being a team player and promoting a healthy environment within your team is just as important. This means that well be expecting a strong set of soft skills as well - excellent communication (in Portuguese and English) common sense and a passion for the art of problem-solving.
