Program Manager - Geo Analytics Food Land and Water

Program Overview for Food Land and Water:
WRI Indias Food Land and Water program aims to inform Indias transition towards sustainable and resilient food and land use systems focusing on developing interdisciplinary nature-based solutions like landscape restoration sustainable agriculture to mitigate climate impacts enhance jobs and livelihoods and improve nutritional security. To catalyse systems change with a focus on circular food systems in India we also focus on developing equitable strategies to reduce food loss and food waste and mitigate climate impacts.
With broader systems change and food systems perspective we work with diverse stakeholders like governments businesses civil society partners and farmer producer organizations to inform and develop land use strategies based on robust evidence and analysis to build the resilience of local communities to mitigate climate impacts bridge capacity gaps monitor progress and inform a pathway to building a restoration economy for people nature and climate.
Job Highlight:
The Program Manager GeoAnalytics will support the Food Land and Water (FLW) program in delivering data-driven analyses across sustainable agriculture landscape restoration and food loss and waste. The role will contribute to the development of online digital infrastructure for decision support for nature-based solutions and work closely with internal teams and partners to provide geospatial analyses visualization and modeling. This position will focus on coordinating project activities ensuring timely delivery and supporting the application of technical insights for on-ground implementation.

What you will do:
Research and Innovation (60%)
  • Support technology and product development (online platforms apps tools) by applying analytical methods for nature-based solutions like landscape restoration sustainable agriculture and reducing food loss and waste.
  • Conduct analyses using remote sensing and multi-sectoral datasets and contribute to research outputs and data-driven methods.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to implement product vision roadmap and strategy.
  • Draft sections of working papers technical notes and other knowledge products.
Project Management (20%)
  • Coordinate with teams across pillars to deliver customized analytical solutions aligned with project needs.
  • Support quantitative research efforts and prepare analytics deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines track deliverables and ensure effective coordination between teams.
Outreach and Knowledge Curation (20%)
  • Work with the communications team to prepare content showcasing data-driven insights through publications and online platforms.
  • Follow institutional guidelines on analytical methods and techniques.
  • Assist in maintaining partnerships for data sharing and platform development.
What you will need:
  • Post-graduation degree in Geography Earth Sciences Geomatics Geoinformatics Remote Sensing or other related fields
  • Preferred experience in designing data led solutions related to land sector natural resource management planning restoration
  • Strong communication skills both written and interpersonal with program management experience
  • 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry with expertise in leading teams delivering analytical solutions
  • Proficiency in GIS software including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x ArcGIS Server ArcGIS Online Quantum GIS MapInfo or similar
  • Experience with coding particularly Python R Javascript
  • Experience with Google Earth Engine
  • Experience in spatial analysis and modeling (e.g. use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools Model Builder Python scripting SQL or equivalent)
  • Experience with MEL systems to track key indicators to assess effectiveness of interventions is a plus
  • Experience in handling publicly available GIS datasets crowd-sourcing platforms such as Open Street Maps and remote-sensing databases
  • Business modeling tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
  • Good understanding of predictive modeling and forecasting techniques
  • Experience with cloud computing and web development is a plus
Potential Salary and Benefits:toCTC Per Annum
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Location:New Delhi India
Duration: 1 Year (extendable based on performance and project requirements). The start date is as soon as possible.
