You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe purpose of this internship is to provide practical experience for those whose career path includes working directly or indirectly with individuals with disabilities. The person in this role commits to help youth deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. This position works under the direction of church school program administrator or direct line leader. The person in this role should have a strong background in teaching learning and working with youth. This is an entry level position.
Work with one or a small group of students with disabilities service missionaries and others as assigned by the teacher.
Teach in the Saviors way by focusing on Jesus Christ loving those you teach teaching by the Spirit teaching the doctrine and inviting diligent learning.
Assist with the onboarding and training of service missionaries assigned to work with students in the Adapted Institute classes.
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
May assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records and reports.
Required to participate in regular training opportunities to improve your job performance and career development.
Regularly work with your line leader on development and performance maintain a professional development plan work toward accomplishing goals and render an account.
Seek for receive and act on feedback through self-evaluations and observations from student and leaders.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge and understanding and skills related to the principles and practices of teaching and learning.
Competent interpersonal communication skillsincluding verbal communication active listening body language openness and decision making.
Basic skills in building constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of integrity acceptance cooperation and mutual respect.
Displays an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement; a willingness to receive feedback and strives to acquire new knowledge and skills.
A desire to gain a general understanding of how to support students with disabilities which may include physical learning behavioral emotional and/or mental health challenges.
Aligns with the direction and policies of the Church Board of Education and S&I leadership.
Basic ability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to use standard office equipment.
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job this position frequently communicates with students who have inquiries on various topics. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the classroom.
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
