Job Description
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Operations supervises campus-wide custodial operations ensuring a clean safe and sustainable environment for students faculty and staff. The manager leads a team of more than 70 staff across multiple supervisory areas providing guidance in hiring training and performance management. This position develops and implements sustainable cleaning practices green initiatives manages custodial budget and inventories contracts for pest control and facilities operations staff uniforms and ensures compliance with College standards and applicable regulatory codes. The manager serves as the primary contact for external contractors and vendors coordinates custodial support for campus events emergency responses and utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and inspection software to monitor work orders inspections and service request tracking.
Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with College standards and applicable regulatory codes to maintain a safe environment for students staff and faculty.
Develops and implements sustainable cleaning practices and green initiatives.
Monitors inventory requisitions supplies and coordinates contractor services.
Supervises Custodial Supervisors; hires trains evaluates and supports accountability with staff.
Conducts ongoing training and custodial inspections.
Oversees attendance to ensure timesheet accuracy.
Coordinates event support with Campus Activities and other departments.
Manages campus-wide custodial budget including cost analysis and variance reporting.
Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and inspection software for work orders inspections and service request tracking.
Coordinate contracts campus wide for Pest Control and the Facilities Operations staff uniforms.
Serves as essential personnel for emergency response including snow or ice removal.
Maintains subject matter expertise through industry conferences and training.
Required knowledge skills and abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Seven years experience performing custodial tasks
Five years in a supervisory capacity or equivalent with a staff of more than 10
Two Years of experience with budget management and inventory control
Knowledge of environmental regulations compliance standards and safety procedures
Ability to develop implement and monitor sustainability initiatives and programs
Strong project management and prioritization skills
Effective communication team collaboration and conflict resolution
Physical capability for frequent standing walking bending reaching and sometimes lifting and carrying objects often up to 50 pounds or more
Preferred knowledge skills and abilities
Compensation
The starting annual base salary range for this position is $85000-$110000(USD)
