Job Description


Wells Fargo is seeking a highly organized and strategic Senior Information Security Engineer with a strong background in project management to lead cross-functional security initiatives within Network Security. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical security expertise and program execution with a passion for building roadmaps aligning teams and driving security maturity across the organization.


In this role you will:

  • Lead and manage complex security projects from initiation through delivery ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed security program roadmaps timelines and resource plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT DevOps Risk and Compliance to ensure timely execution of security initiatives.
  • Track and report on project progress risks and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Support security architecture and engineering efforts by translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Drive adoption of security best practices and frameworks (e.g. NIST ISO 27001 CIS Controls).
  • Facilitate risk assessments vulnerability management and incident response planning.
  • Contribute to policy development security awareness training and audit readiness.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience training military experience education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Security or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 4 years of experience in information security with at least 2 years in project or program management capacity.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on project progress risks and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Ability to drive the adoption of security best practices and frameworks (e.g. NIST ISO 7001 CIS Controls).
  • Experience with facilitating risk assessments vulnerability management and incident response planning.
  • Experience maintaining detailed security program roadmaps timelines and resource plans.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies (e.g. firewalls SIEM IAM endpoint protection).
  • Proven experience managing security projects using Agile Scrum or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with tools like Jira Confluence Smartsheet or MS Project.
  • Splunk experience
