IT Manager / Assistant IT Manager(Customer Services/User Support) End User Computing ()
Position description
Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager (Customer Services/User Support)of Information Technology the appointee will lead the End User Computing function to manage and maintain the digital workplace environment IT asset management and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction in end-user computing services to the University community forsupporting teaching and learning as well asits operation.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain EUC Services and capabilities in conjunction and alignment with the other Technology Services functions;
- Develop and deploy digital workplace and mobility solutions to meetUniversitysneeds and technology roadmap;
- Provide technical support to End User systems and tools desktop applications platforms Remote Access and Mobility solutions etc.;
- Manage and maintain VDI solutions and virtualization technologies to support diverse user needs;
- Configure and manage Microsoft Active Directory and related configurations to support Universitys needs;
- Develop and maintain Intune/Autopilot infrastructure to streamline device management;
- Build computer imaging deployment and patch management for user workstation;
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Core technologies - DNS DHCP Intune Microsoft 365 Windows Defender etc.;
- Proficient in printing management solutions to ensure reliable printing services;
- Demonstrable technical expertise in deploying MS applications operating systems and migration;
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues in digital workplace environments implementing improvements as needed;
- SupportIT Service Management / IT Operations Management process;
- Apply ITIL frameworkknowledge to improve service delivery efficiency; and
- Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities requested by supervisor.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in information technology computer science or related discipline;
- Minimum 8 years or above of relevant work experience in End User Computing;
- Solid domain knowledge on Windows 11 MS Office Active Directory Microsoft 365 and Adobe Applications etc.;
- Experience with Microsoft Intune architecture design policies and features for PC and mobile device management;
- Solid knowledge of computer Golden Image build configuration and deployment;
- Experience in ServiceNow ITSM CMDB and Software Asset management;
- Technically strong in supporting Windows/Mac OS/Linux as well as printing management systems like PaperCut;
- Preferably with ITIL PMP or other relevant certification;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a technology-driven and analytical mindset; and
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two -appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
