Make a Difference
The Consultation Nurse responds to situations in the hospital where a patient is showing signs of clinical deterioration. This position will be responsible for monitoring evaluating and rounding on all patients in the hospital outside of ICU. This position serves as an educational mentor and teaching resource for inexperienced nurses who are learning new procedures or have questions/concerns about a patients assessment. To maintain ICU nursing skills the Consultation Nurse will work PRN in the ICU (will work one 12 hour shift/every 3rd week from 7a-7:30p).
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice care the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network; demonstration of skills in collaboration delegation negotiation and management of resources.
- Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN) Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing or three years of related professional nursing experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience REQUIRED with at least 3 years of critical care nursing and precepting experience. ACLS BLS NIHSS certified. CCRN preferred upon hire or within 1 year.
- Excellent communication/team skills.
- Compassionate and caring.
- Accountable.
- Self-directed.
- EPIC experience is a plus.
