Were looking for a passionate and skilled Web Developer to join our team responsible for building fast modern and user-focused websites for our network of local news stations. This role will focus on building and maintaining high-performance public-facing web experiences using Svelte (or transitioning into it from similar frameworks like React).

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain responsive accessible and high-performance websites using Svelte HTML5 CSS3 and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Work with backend teams to integrate RESTful APIs and content feeds.
Collaborate with designers and product managers to implement user-centric features and iterate based on analytics and feedback.
Participate in code reviews sprint planning and architecture discussions to ensure scalable and maintainable codebases.
Help establish and promote best practices in modern web development (component-driven development performance tuning SEO accessibility).
Contribute to the migration of legacy codebases into modular modern web stacks.
Integrate 3rd party SDKs such as RudderStack and LaunchDarkly
Requirements:
3 years of experience building modern web applications with strong JavaScript fundamentals.
Experience in Svelte React Vue or other component-based front-end frameworks.
Understanding of performance optimization techniques (Core Web Vitals lazy loading etc.).
Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
Comfort working in agile teams and collaborating across engineering product and design.
Willingness to learn and contribute to a Svelte-based ecosystem (if not already experienced).
