Job Description

JOB TITLE:Athletic Game Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION:Extra Comp

SUPERVISOR: Building Principal

GENERAL STATEMENT OF AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

Under the direction of the building principal or designee the Game Supervisor is responsible for supervising students and the public in non-instructional settings throughout the school site. This position is recommended preparation for administrative candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises and controls student and public behavior on the grounds and in the restrooms and ensures compliance with school district and law policies and procedures.
  2. May provide First Aid assistance within the scope of district policies.
  3. Keep school officials informed of the safety conditions of campus equipment and facilities.
  4. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with administration co-workers students staff and the public.
  5. Keep school officials informed of supervision issues and interventions taken with staff students and the public.
  6. Assists coaches and school officials with athletic game management.
  7. Be present at the assigned event during assigned times but no less than the beginning of the event until the conclusion of the event and the areas is cleared of students and spectators.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to effectively supervise students and the public to achieve school goals.
  2. Ability to treat students and staff with dignity and respect using tact judgment and poise.
  3. Ability to move around the campus on even and uneven surfaces.
  4. Ability to see and hear students and adults.
  5. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  6. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students staff fellow employees and the public.
  7. Ability to perform physical labor when required.

  1. Demonstrated ability to show a positive attitude toward all aspects of work.
  2. Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility.
  3. Demonstrated ability to accept the principles of honesty integrity and accuracy in all matters pertaining to district operations.

  8. Demonstrated ability to engage in a continuous inservice training program.
  9. Demonstrated ability to ask for and accept suggestions from staff.

Education and Experience

  1. Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
  2. Previous experience supervising children is desirable.
  3. Those with teaching certificates and in administrative training program will be given preference.
