IT Project Manager (2-year contract) (Ref: KHXXXX)
Our esteemed client will be undertaking an implementation project of a large-scale Operations Support System / Business Support System ( OSS / BSS ). The IT Project Manager will be assigned and be responsible for certain functional / non-functional area(s) or project streams of the project. For these areas he/she is expected to lead and manage a cross-functional team comprising the system integrator (SI) incumbent vendors internal and external business partners and IT SMEs to deliver the desired business and technical outcomes. The IT Project Manager will manage these activities under the direction of the Project Director and the PMO.
The Job
1) Assigned areas of Project/Delivery Management:
- Deliver the project through to post-live support in accordance with the agreed Scope of Work while protecting the interest of the company.
- Ensure the alignment of the new OSS/BSS with the systems that will be retained post-live.
- Partner with the SI and internal/external stakeholders in the development of the Project Management Plan and performance KPIs
- Partner with business and IT SMEs to deliver the project within scope cost time and quality requirements.
- Align the team and identify the associated inter-dependencies.
- Monitor and track the status of work streams key issues and costs.
- Input into project dashboards and reports for updates on project schedule budget and status.
- Update communication plans.
- Track and update resources plan provide input for resource requirements forecasting.
- Review and ensure that vendor deliverables meet contractual obligations.
- Ensure the timely completion of project activities and deliverables timely escalation of open issues closure of all issues and the sign-offs from the respective stakeholders.
- Manage the changes to the project scope schedule and cost
- Facilitate Change Request Process with the SI.
- Ensure production readiness for deployment including testing data migration training and communications.
2) Assigned areas of Project Risk Management:
- Manage the companys contractual obligations.
- Manage and track the scope timelines milestones and committed deliverables closely.
- Identify project risks (technical and non-technical) develop mitigation plans with the relevant stakeholders and ensure the timely execution of the risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure that project risks and potential contingencies impacting scope time quality and cost of deliverables are discussed through the appropriate escalation process in a timely manner.
- Monitor enforce and track project Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Track and maintain the Issues log Risk Log and Key Decisions log.
3) Assigned areas of Stakeholder and People Management
- Manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a collaborative culture
- Work with the team to solve technical and business issues.
- Manage conflicts if and when they occur.
- Work with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the interest of the company is protected.
- Obtain stakeholders buy-in while ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and deliverables including the associated deadlines.
3) Assigned areas of Administrative Management
- Assist Project Director and PMO to oversee the project from start to finish.
- Project planning and coordination of project activities resources and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation plans scorecards dashboards and reports.
- Ensure all documents and trackers are up-to-date accurate and properly filed.
- Ensure all meeting minutes with action items are properly documented and reviewed.
- Track and consolidate project progress from work streams.
- Track project milestones and deliverables. Ensure action items are acted upon in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track project progress and handle any issues that arise. Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants.
- Assist in managing appropriate official paperwork such as purchase order invoices etc.
- Attend to any other reasonable duties as assigned.
The Candidate
- Degree in Information Technology Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 10 years of working experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management in the software industry.
- Have experience in requirements analysis business process re-engineering development / implementation testing data migration training and production cutover.
- Strong technical knowledge in the areas of software implementation telecommunications and telecommunications operations.
- Proven experience in implementing OSS/BSS as part of a large-scale telecommunication operations support system implementation
- Well-organized attention to detail able to multi-task.
- Motivated goal-oriented and self-driven with positive working attitude.
- Able to work independently and as a team.
- Effective time management analytical and logical decision-making ability.
- Good vendor management and able to communicate fluently in English.
- Possess great interpersonal and communication skills to work as a team.
- Negotiation mediation people management skills.
- Ability to consistently follow up with team members to accurately track and instigate progress.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Project PowerPoint Word Excel and Visio
