WKWSCI is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Assistant. The incumbent will support the research project that aims to design human-IoT communication that effectively motivates seniors to actively engage in self-directed health prevention leading to improvements in their mental and physical well-being. Consequently our project will primarily focus on relatively healthier seniors (aged 60 and above) who do not have serious health conditions requiring intensive medical treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance: Keep track of expenditure and remaining budget in an organized manner ensure that the spend is optimized and on track with respect to goals set for the grant; prepare financial and progress reports presentations as well as other research-related documents
Administrative: liaise with external vendors to purchase necessary equipment/materials for research studies including specialized equipment software and research participant incentives
Subject Recruitment: responsible for recruiting participants for interview and survey
Logistics: plan the necessary logistics for studies such as interview scheduling and booking facilities.
Basic research: conduct literature review
Data collection: participate in the data collection process for both qualitative (e.g. interviews) and quantitative (e.g. surveys) studies
Data analysis: analyze data for various projects using tools such as SPSS and Mplus
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in the field of communication studies psychology or related social science fields
Good project management skills with multi-tasking ability
Skills and basic training in quantitative and qualitative research for social science
Academic writing skills required
Ability to run standard statistical tests (e.g. using SPSS or Mplus for regression analysis and SEM etc.)
Knowledge of advanced statistical tests (e.g. moderation/mediation hierarchical regression etc.) is preferred
Good team player with effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with faculty staff students and external collaborators
Past experience in a project officer or research assistant role is preferred
