You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs a first-line manager within a complex work area this position provides management oversight of the states public transportation program with a focus on grants and compliance. The role includes direct supervision of professional and temporary staff ensuring alignment with departmental goals regulatory compliance and ongoing staff development. Responsibilities include oversight of state and federal grant applications serving as the primary liaison with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on grant and transit agency related items and leading the development of annual program recommendations. Additionally this position oversees the Transit Asset Management (TAM) Plan updates the State Management Plan (SMP) and ensures adherence to applicable state and federal regulations. Other duties involve constructing and reviewing Request for Proposals (RFPs) consulting on the statewide rideshare contract and researching and programming Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funding. This position also assists with the sections special assignments including the development of department plans and reports participates in cross-functional Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) initiatives represents MDOT as the Rural Transit Manager in the National Rural Transit Assistance Program and collaborates with other state Department of Transportations (DOTs) on transportation initiatives.
The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Departmental Manager 14 position.

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
