We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer
Do you want to change the world with cutting edge clean energy solutions We are at forefront of solar electronics technology looking for talented engineers to join us.
Role/Duties:
  • Develop new products and variants through the product lifecycle
  • Work in cross-functional teams of hardware firmware test automation and mechanical engineers
  • Specify design verify and debug complex circuits/firmware for our inverters and ancillaries
  • Performance test products and sub-systems
  • Assist product compliance engineers to achieve global certifications for our products.
  • Specify engineering requirements create test plans and generate test reports
  • Raise the bar for technical excellence accurate documentation and scientific rigor
  • Become a subject matter expert at an advanced level
Qualification and Previous Experience:
  • Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification
  • 4 years experience in industry would be considered an advantage
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have:
  • Experience in designing Power Electronics circuits
  • Understanding of electric power system concepts
  • Digital hardware design including interfacing Microcontrollers and FPGAs
  • Knowledge of circuit schematic PCB layout and simulation tools
  • Practical experience in testing and debugging hardware using oscilloscopes multi-meters etc

Strengths in one or more of these areas:
  • Real world experience in developing electronic products from the concept stage to market launch
  • High-volume product development
  • Standards or Compliance experience
  • Python or C programming
  • Understanding and application of EMC design
  • Experience in developing firmware in embedded applications
  • Familiarity with design verification testing especially automated testing

About the Christchurch team
Enphase Energy New Zealand is located in Wigram Christchurch. We are a Research and Development Centre focused on the design and testing of our cornerstone product the Microinverter. Enphase New Zealand has a team of around 80 engineers and support staff.
