The Clinical Supervisor will oversee and supervise Master Level clinicians who are responsible for evaluating treating and providing support for patients in need of psychiatric services through the Boston Medical Center Community Behavioral Health Center. The Clinical Supervisor will manage all aspects of program administration and operations for the CBHC Clinic in collaboration with the Director of Emergency Services Medical Director Clinical Director and Operations Manager of Outpatient Psychiatry. Administrative responsibilities include: coordinating day-to-day operational activities of the CBHC Clinic; creating and maintaining documentation of the programs operational protocols and guidelines; responsible for operational oversight of staffing schedules coverage and templates in coordination with Operations Manager of Adult Outpatient Psychiatry; coordinating comprehensive onboarding and training to new staff members in CBHC Clinic; review cases and documentation to ensure staff are compliant with approved protocols and procedures; ensure clear bidirectional referral pathways in and out of CBHC Clinic; ensures the consistent and accurate preparation of key programmatic metrics and presents/interprets these data with program leadership to inform strategic decision making; collaborates with ESP and Outpatient Psychiatry leadership on strategic planning implementation planning and execution of growth/improvement initiatives in CBHC; assist in promoting the program across the hospital and health system.
The Clinical Supervisor is accountable for scheduling clinical staff and in collaboration with the Director of Emergency Services will participate in hiring supervising and performance management as well as mentoring and providing clinical back-up and support. They will utilize evidence-based clinical techniques and theory to consult on assess and intervene with high-risk patients and their families regarding the impact/amelioration of emotional and social addition the Clinical Supervisor will provide direct clinical care in the CBHC Clinic setting through individual couples family and group therapy sessions. Candidates should have previous supervisory experience and experience in emergency services and/or urgent care models is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Administrative responsibilities include:
Coordinates day-to-day clinical management activities for CBHC Clinic including payroll and scheduling.
Develops communicates maintains and updates documentation of the programs operational protocols and guidelines in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
Responsible for clinical management of staffing schedules coverage and templates in coordination with Operations Manager of CBHC Clinic.
In collaboration with the Clinical Director the Clinical Supervisor will participate in hiring supervising and performance management of clinical staff including mentoring and providing clinical back-up and real-time support.
Provides comprehensive onboarding and training to new staff members at CBHC Clinic.
Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service education program offerings punctuality and consistency. Supports the ongoing training needs of clinical and resource staff.
Conducts audits and weekly review of cases and documentation to ensure compliance with approved protocols and procedures; Oversight of care coordination related to stabilization and transition plans including clear bidirectional referral pathways in and out of CBHC Clinic.
Analyze key programmatic metrics on a weekly basis to interpret trends and recommend programmatic adjustments to meet state hospital and departmental performance standards
Collaborate and provide problem solving on the spot with colleagues from internal programming under the CBHC Continuum Outpatient Psychiatry and referring partners to deliver patients with reliable access to CBHC services.
Ensure that patients access care utilizing a no-wrong door/welcoming system of care that addresses patients needs efficiently and with quality interventions and service.
Assist in promoting the program across the hospital and health system.
Utilize evidence-based clinical techniques and theory to guide assessment and intervention with high-risk patients and their families to ensure risk is managed and safety is prioritized.
Clinical Supervision
Supervises staff including training delegating tasks overseeing daily activities mentoring guiding through demonstration of best practices and offering opportunities for professional development
Coordinates and maintains the daily schedule for coverage across clinical areas and reviews with Director as needed
Ensures appropriate clinical supervision for staff by clinical licensure
Manages clinical training placements in clinical areas including ensuring appropriate clinical supervision
Ensures appropriate standards of care for patients in crisis and assists clinical team in response to crisis situations
Maintains competency in areas of responsibility to ensure quality care
Maintains a complete understanding of emergency procedures
Direct Patient Care
Assesses patients and families to identify psychological emotional and social concerns and needs utilizing the departments psychosocial assessment tool as a guideline.
Provides evidenced-based psychotherapeutic treatment and/or psychosocial support to patients and families to reduce the impact of identified needs and concerns.
In collaboration with the patient develops and formulates a comprehensive treatment plan addressing multiple domains including mental health and health related social needs (HRSN)
Reports any and all suspected cases of abuse and neglect and follows up to ensure patient receives timely comprehensive consultations and compliance with legal mandates.
Identifies need to involve patients family through the initial assessment process and attempts contact on same day if indicated.
Consults and collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure that patients emotional and social needs are addressed.
Ensures that patient and family remain apprised involved supported and treated through prescribed clinical relationships through at least weekly contacts and whenever a change in care or plan requires more contact.
Utilizes evidence based Clinical Social Work techniques and theory to assist patients and families in coping with illness or social problems to achieve improved functioning and emotional state.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to hospital policy. Practices professional discretion when determining the inclusion of any patient information into medical record or department clinical record notes.
Documents each patient encounter in the medical record or the Department clinical record concurrently according to Department policies. Specifically documents ongoing treatment work in the Department clinic records. Each recording shall include date time title and signature.
Other Duties
Complies with departmental regulatory and professional requirements for documentation and data collection
Performs other duties as needed

EDUCATION:
Masters degree in social work Mental Health Counseling or related field
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Requires a current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensure or licensure eligible with receipt of license within 6 months.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three years of full-time work experience. Experience providing behavioral health care in medical setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience is .

Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Maintain flexibility in a dynamic urgent care setting
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families and supervise and manage team
Demonstrated broad theoretical knowledge and excellent clinical skills that include models of case management and psychosocial service
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Willingness to provide support to the youth team in the absence of the youth supervisor
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) is a plus.
Ability to interpret data and use data to guide decision-making
Proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) web browsers and electronic medical records systems
