The Department of the Built Environment is Denmarks largest department in construction civil engineering and the built environment. The research at BUILD is rooted in the field of engineering but it also contains important and comprehensive elements from the social sciences and the humanities.
The position is available in the Universal Design Research Group at the Division of Town Housing and Property.
The Universal Design Research Group conducts research on how the built environment can be inclusive and health-promoting for everyone regardless of age gender abilities and addition the group has developed and run a website in Danish about Universal Design.

Job description
The work involves research including development of research ideas fundraising management of research projects and dissemination e.g. at the website addition there will be associated research-based government services and assistance in the preparation of directions. The candidate is moreover expected to take a lead role in teaching at BSc MSc and PhD particular the applicant will contribute to the teaching and supervision activities in the division including at the program Bredygtige Byggeprocesser.
Qualification requirements
We imagine that you are a qualified architect landscape architect or has an interdisciplinary background that combines health and the built environment. Furthermore we expect you to have knowledge of the actors and processes within the Danish construction industry. It is an advantage if you have experience with international collaboration.
Candidates should have the ability to work in a team as well as independently and be good at networking. You must be able to work with public authorities interest organizations and representatives of the sector in a multidisciplinary research environment. Furthermore this includes taking leadership in planning and executing international and national multidisciplinary research projects.
Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at the level that can be achieved through the satisfactory completion of a period of employment as an assistant professor but may also be obtained in other ways.
It is a precondition that applicants have documented research at an international addition applicants are assumed to have received supervision and pedagogical skills development and to have obtained a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications
The candidate must have excellent knowledge of English and Danish (written and spoken).
