Occupational Therapist-Assistant (COTA) - LTSJob Goals: Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to implement therapeutic interventions that address students developmental sensory and motor needs with a focus on facilitating students participation in academic and social activities while promoting independence and improving their overall functional : Reports directly to Occupational Therapist and School PrincipalEssential Duties & Responsibilities: Provides direct occupational therapy to students according to a written treatment plan/IEP under the direction of an Occupational in planning and developing therapeutic goals with the Occupational Therapist that are educationally relevant and will be used in students educational therapeutic activities into the classroom setting when and wherever high standards of confidentiality attendance and flexibility while working in a collaborative in data collection and evaluation. Maintains records and modification of treatment approaches to the OT to reflect the childs changing with ordering construction and adaptation of equipment and environments to meet the therapeutic needs of the students as well as fabricate activities and and interacts with other team members school personnel and families in collaboration with an treatment areas equipment and supply inventory. Retrieves and delivers equipment from storage area as staff or program meetings to communicate goals and be able to work collaboratively with regular and special education teachers to support students be able to communicate effectively and problem a daily schedule which includes multiple sites students/classrooms and other activities/ transfer and position children and equipment as necessary to provide occupational Minimum QualificationsMassachusetts licensure Ability and desire to work with a diverse student physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
