What will you do
Were seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join our award-winning internal creative agency at Johnson Controls. This role is ideal for a highly creative strategically minded motion designer who brings ideas to the tablenot just execution. Youll play a key role in shaping the visual storytelling of one of the worlds leading smart buildings companies delivering compelling content across video digital and experiential formats.
Youll collaborate closely with producers writers and stakeholders to conceptualize and craft motion design that elevates the Johnson Controls brand globally. As a senior team member youll be expected to lead by example and contribute confidently in meetings.
How will you do it
Creative Development: Collaborate with the creative team to concept and storyboard animated content for product explainers campaigns social videos internal communications and brand storytelling.
Design Execution: Own the motion design process from start to finishstyle frames animation compositing sound and final delivery.
Brand Stewardship: Ensure motion graphics align with and enhance our visual identity. Push boundaries while maintaining brand coherence.
Collaboration: Actively participate in team brainstorms kickoffs and stakeholder reviews. Present and defend creative decisions clearly and respectfully.
Efficiency & Ownership: Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work. Collaborate with editors designers and copywriters to streamline post-production workflows.
What we are looking for
Required
- 58 years of professional motion design experience in a creative agency in-house team or production studio.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects is essential including advanced knowledge of animation and visual effects workflows.
- Advanced skills in Illustrator Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Knowledge of 3D (Cinema 4D Blender) is a plus.
- Familiarity with emerging AI tools and techniques that support creative production such as generative design AI-assisted animation or video enhancement tools.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of motion design styles creative thinking and problem-solving.
- A confident collaborative approach to creative discussionsyoure comfortable presenting your work and ideas to stakeholders.
- A passion for storytelling through design and an eye for detail timing and pacing.
- An understanding of corporate branding and the ability to elevate even the most technical topics into engaging visual narratives.
- A degree in Motion Design Animation Visual Communication or related field.
Preferred
- Experience working in a global B2B brand environment.
- Familiarity with video editing and audio design principles.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards in video and animation.
