Solution Architect Payments Platform (Connex)
About the client:
Our client is a leading consultancy delivering secure and scalable payment solutions across banking and financial services. This role supports the architecture and delivery of card issuing acquiring and switching platforms using Connex and other technologies.
About the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of innovative payment solutions. Youll define architecture roadmaps guide platform evolution and ensure compliance with industry standards and scheme certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain target state architecture and roadmaps for Connex.
- Lead solution design for card issuing acquiring switching and merchant services.
- Provide technical leadership across real-time payments eCommerce and omni-channel initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and assess feasibility.
- Evaluate and integrate vendor solutions with scheme and security compliance.
- Architect event-driven microservices and cloud-native solutions (Azure/AWS).
- Ensure performance scalability security and supportability of solutions.
- Mentor junior architects and contribute to governance and best practices.
Required Experience:
- 10 years in solution architecture within payments and banking.
- Proven experience with Connex or similar switching platforms.
- Strong knowledge of card scheme operations tokenisation 3D Secure and digital wallets.
- Expertise in ISO 8583 ISO 20022 AS2805 and SWIFT protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AWS containerisation and integration tools (Web Services MQ).
- Familiarity with Visa Mastercard UnionPay and eCommerce gateways (e.g. Cybersource MPGS).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
