Loopio is looking for a curious and collaborative Senior Frontend Software Developer to join our talented team. We are looking for a creative UI/UX architect to structure and improve website usability. This role owns our internal React-based design system (Witchcraft) and is responsible for its ongoing adoption and evolution. Youll be working closely with Designers and Developers across the department to advance this work as the shared vocabulary to help us create an industry-leading UI experience.
What Youll Be Doing
Maintain and evolve our component library and contribute to our overall design system: Define and maintain the structure components and patterns for a scalable maintainable and accessible UI.
Collaborate cross-functionally with designers product managers and developers to deliver a cohesive user experience.
Provide technical leadership on front-end architecture ensuring code quality performance and adherence to best practices.
Champion accessibility (A11y) by implementing and advocating for inclusive design principles.
Document educate and enable other developers to use and contribute to the design system effectively.
Guide and review contributions to the design system ensuring consistency and quality.
Stay current with UI/UX trends tools and technologies to continually improve our product and development processes.
Collaborate on usability testing and feedback loops to validate design system improvements.
What Youll Bring to the Team
6 years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on React and modern front-end JavaScript.
Advanced knowledge of HTML5 CSS3 and responsive design best practices.
Proven experience designing and implementing scalable maintainable UI architectures.
Strong grasp of user-centred design information architecture and visual design principles.
Experience working with and/or contributing to design systems (e.g. Bootstrap Material-UI or custom).
Solid understanding of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design.
Experience with TypeScript Figma and component-driven development is a plus.
Familiarity with front-end testing practices (unit E2E regression).
A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders.
Experience mentoring other developers through code reviews pair programming or coaching.
Exposure to Agile workflows (Scrum or Kanban).
Where Youll Work
Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We are HQd in Canada with established hub regions around the world where we hire from.
Our employees (or Loopers as we call ourselves!) live and work in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario) London and India (specifically in Gujarat Maharashtra and Bengaluru).
The majority of our team is based in ON and BC which means these employees live and work remotely within a 300km radius of Toronto (within Ontario) and Vancouver (Within BC).
We offer flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the option of working out of our convenient co-working space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work centrally in Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you!
Youll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK India and North America (were just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work during the workday
