Job Description
The Financial Analyst within the Office of Research and Graduate Studies at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial management support. This position will primarily focus on financial projections monitoring expenditures and supporting internal grant mechanisms. Additionally the Financial Analyst will serve as a backup for pre-award and post-award positions within the College. This role requires a strong background in financial management attention to detail exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic research environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business administration or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Proven experience in financial management preferably in an academic or research setting.
- Familiarity with grant funding regulations policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
