We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Dalton Georgia facility. This position will be on 2nd shift which is 7:00PM-7:30AM Monday-Friday. Starting rate for this position $25.00 and up and is eligible for shift differential which is an additional $1.50 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift.

Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe efficient and reliable operation of plastic extrusion equipment and supporting systems. This role includes performing preventative and corrective maintenance troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues and supporting continuous improvement efforts to maximize production uptime and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Awareness/LOTO: Comply with all plant safety procedures lockout/tagout and OSHA requirements.
- Manufacturing Equipment Upkeep: Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Routine Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on extrusion lines downstream equipment and supporting systems.
- Interdepartmental Communication/Coordination: Collaborate with production engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- CMMS: Document maintenance activities parts usage and downtime in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Support extrusion operators with setup adjustments and line changeovers when required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to learn the functionality of plant equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand and follow work instructions procedures and technical manuals/drawings
- Knowledge in electrical wiring and troubleshooting
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
- Completion of high school or GED equivalency.
- Five years of maintenance experience is required.
- Manufacturing experience within the plastics industry is preferred.
- Technical school or apprenticeship in a skilled trade is preferred.
- Welding/fabrication knowledge is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 55 pounds.
- Must have industrial electrical knowledge - (480 volt low volt control circuit experience).
- Can properly use power and hand-tools.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be able to thoroughly troubleshoot machine breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Flexibility to work overtime and some weekends as needed.
