Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and visionaryData Architect to lead the design development and operation of a cloud-based data operations this role you will also act as the Product Owner for the Data Operations Scrum Team driving the delivery of impactful business outcomes.
As a Data Architect you will define and execute the vision for a secure scalable and fault-tolerant platform that enables near real-time operational and analytics-ready data for the business. Youll collaborate closely with stakeholders and lead a high-performing cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
This role requires expertise in modern data architecture cloud technologies Agile leadership and DevOps practices along with strong business acumen and prioritization skills.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture
- Design and implement scalable secure and efficient data architectures.
- Develop and enforce data management strategies including modeling integration warehousing and migration.
- Oversee the implementation of cloud-native data platforms ensuring optimal performance cost-efficiency and reliability.
- Define and uphold data governance standards to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the data architecture with business goals.
Product Ownership
- Establish and maintain a clear product vision roadmap and backlog for the data platform.
- Prioritize features enhancements and technical debt based on business value stakeholder input and team capacity.
- Act as the primary bridge between stakeholders and the Scrum team ensuring alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Write clear actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning reviews and retrospectives to maximize team productivity.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8 years of experience in data architecture data engineering or related fields.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing data lakes data warehouses and real-time streaming solutions.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and cloud-native services.
- Proficiency in modern data tools and technologies including SQL Python Spark Kafka and ETL frameworks.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g. Collibra Alation) and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR CCPA).
- 3 years as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment.
- Deep understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies including backlog management and sprint planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate between technical and business needs.
- Strong leadership problem-solving and coaching skills.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices microservices architecture principles and networking fundamentals (e.g. OSI model security).
- Fluent in English.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science Information Systems or a related field.
- AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Professional DevOps Engineer Security).
- Experience building secure systems compliant with ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53 standards.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Looker Power BI) and machine learning pipelines.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale data operations and cross-functional teams.
