Job Description
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) PRN
Location: ASVH Flagstaff
Schedule: 12-hour shifts 6:00 AM6:30 PM PRN (as needed)
Must work at least 3 shifts per month
Pay: $40$44/hour
40 hours per week is not guaranteed
Position Summary
The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders nursing standards and facility policies. This role includes administering medications performing treatments monitoring resident conditions and ensuring accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications and perform treatments (oral enteral parenteral suppository sterile wound care tracheostomy gastrostomy/jejunostomy care catheter care etc.)
Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments
Ensure adequate availability of supplies and medications
Participate in shift reports and interdisciplinary communication
Complete initial admission assessments and contribute to care plans/MDS reviews
Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
Attend and contribute to staff meetings
Knowledge & Skills
Gerontological/Geriatric nursing practices and the aging process
Team nursing principles and treatment plan implementation
Pharmacology and safe medication administration practices
Federal and State regulations for long-term care nursing
Strong skills in observation assessment and medical emergency response
Effective oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills
Abilities
Comply with nursing standards and regulations
Evaluate analyze and respond to resident health concerns independently
Provide professional compassionate care to residents and families
Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
